321 posts · Joined 2009. #8 · Dec 1, 2010. It might be worth $100 in parts... I own a Lefever Nitro Special. In particular one from 1928. Its in 12 gauge instead of 16. The 16 gauge wont draw the same premium. The 12 has 2 3/4 chambers, the 16's had 2 9/16.

You don't mention the gauge. I had a 16 Ga. Nitro Special which had 2-9/16" cahambers. These are some of those old shells, in numbers 6, 4, and 7-1/2 shot. This Nitro Special 410 was only chambered for 2.5-inch shells, but Dad had a gunsmith friend bore this one out to accept 3″ shells.
